SUMMARY:
A rapidly growing multinational mining conglomerate, with multiple operations across five major continents, needed to standardise and optimise their sourcing and procurement practices – and fast.
KEY CHALLENGES:
- Multiple Moving Parts. With operations on every continent, finding the time and capacity within each region to analyze and overhaul the relevant processes was both critical and complex.
- Blurred Picture. Many within the organisation had differing ideas as to what and how to standardise procedures.
- Rapid Growth. Having expanded rapidly, well-articulated processes and clearly defined roles and responsibilities were now urgently needed.
THE ANALYZE SOLUTION:
- Discover: After going step-by-step through each existing process with multiple stakeholders, we began to spot the blind spots, the missing links, and the redundancies that needed addressing.
- Design: We used the best process mapping tools to visually map out processes in real-time, at the speed of conversation.
- Deliver: These newly outlined processes were then presented to various stakeholder groups, in multiple regions. Via dynamic, collaborative workshops to achieve maximum buy-in across the board.
Having established a new gold standard for procurement and sourcing within their global supply chain function, the client was able to ensure widespread compliance, adoption and greater efficiency at the click of a button.
